Monthly Lead Recap

Monthly lead recaps are now available.  If you are interested in receiving a list of the leads that are generated monthly by ACVA, please email Llloyd@VisitAlexVA.com.  These contacts are extremely valuable to both the ACVA and to our members. Therefore, if you solicit these contacts, please be mindful of the customer's time. It is always best to send them an email (rather than a phone call) so they can follow up as they wish to. Thank you!

Social Media to Raise Profits

Scott Shaw, founder of Fishbowl, the online marketing agency, was one of the most effective speakers at the spring Alexandria Tourism Marketing Summit - and he is presenting a free seminar on social media just for restaurants!

"Bottom Line: Social Media Basics" will give you a short list of what you need to know in order to use social media to raise your profits. Presented by experts who have long histories in both the dining industry and online marketing, the seminar will look at how you can use such applications as Facebook and Twitter to improve your bottom line. Click here for more information, including details on the participating panelists.

Monday, August 16 | 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. | Overwood Restaurant, 220 N. Lee Street

The seminar is free but reservations are required. To reserve your place, email JRecoussine@Fishbowl.com or call (703)836-3421 ext. 189.

Growing Green

Alexandria restaurants are increasingly using environmentally friendly practices, and ACVA needs to know about your activities for marketing and public-relation purposes. For instance, many meeting planners currently look for ways to integrate "green" practices into their events. Click here to download a form that collects information on what you are doing to protect the environment. It also gives you ideas of additional ways you can get involved in the green movement.

The form is two pages long; it collects additional important information that our group-sales staff needs in order to most effectively attract groups and events to Alexandria restaurants.

Return the form to Lorraine Lloyd at LLloyd@VisitAlexVA.com or by fax at (703) 746-3314.
