Historic Attractions

Located within eyesight of Washington, D.C., Alexandria's history dates back to the Colonial period. Alexandria has played a vital role in the history of America, and that influence is highlighted by the amazing historic sites located throughout the city.

George Washington called Alexandria his hometown. Thomas Jefferson entertained guests at Gadsby's Tavern. Robert E. Lee worshipped at Christ Church.
